FAQ's - Store Customization & Design
- Can I use my own logo with a Shopster Template?
- Yes, all Shopster templates support the ability to add your own logo. A logo can be uploaded to your site by selecting Customize within the Design tab and clicking Change Logo.
- What can I do to customize my Shopster storefront template?
- The new Shopster storebuilder was designed to provide you full flexibility in customizing your site. Examples include changes to color, navigation, page layouts, footers, product presentation and return policies. The only limit to customization is your imagination and skill level (if either of these become an obstacle, hiring a web designer may be the right option for you).
- The template I like doesn’t have an About Us section. How do I add one?
- New pages, including an About Us page, can be added by selecting Store Pages (within the Design tab) and creating a page called About Us. To make this page visible on your storefront you also have to add it to your existing menu options. Select Store Menus and add the heading About Us into the menu of your choice - remember to link your menu title to your newly created About Us page and to save your work when you're done.
- What customization options do I have for my template?
- The new Shopster storebuilder was designed to provide you full flexibility in customizing your site. While each template will differ in the layout options that come with that template, you can modify these options to suit your needs.
- Can I design and upload my own custom template if I don’t I don’t want to use one of Shopster’s?
- Yes, users with Shopster PowerMerchant or enhanced feature functionality are able to design and upload their own custom templates. All templates need to be designed or modified according to Shopster’s template development specifications.
- I have another non-Shopster store, can I export my Shopster template and apply it there?
- Yes, users with Shopster PowerMerchant or enhanced feature functionality are able to downloaded and save their templates on their computer. Select Design from the main menu and then click on the Upload/Download link from the menu. Click on the Download Template button.
- Can I add my own customized code to the free templates?
- Shopster free templates do not allow you to edit the template code. If you wish to do so, consider upgrading to a Shopster PowerMerchant account. This account gives you full access to all of the template assets and layout files and the code within. PowerMerchant is a great option for those users who want to add their own unique customizations directly into the template itself.
- Whose ads are on my store template?
- The ads which appear by default on certain Shopster templates belong to Shopster. They are provided by Google AdSense™ network and display advertising based on the content of each page. You may remove these ads or replace them with your own Google AdSense account if you have upgraded your account to any paid PowerMerchant account.
