FAQ's - Store Pages & Menus

  1. What is a Page?
    • A single element of your store. You are able link multiple pages together through the use of menus. This is how you build your store framework.

  2. How do I create a page?
    • Select Design from the main menu and then select Store Pages. Click on the Add a Page button and enter in the desired information. Don’t forget to save your page when you’re done.

  3. What is a menu?
    • Menus create the navigational framework of your store. Within each menu you can define specific links to pages, product categories, files and urls. These menu items are the connection between your site structure and your home page.

  4. How do I create a menu?
    • Select Design from the main menu and then select Store Menus. Click on the Add a Menu button. When you have been redirected to the Edit Menu page, assign a title and store location for your menu. Then add the individual menu items you’d like displayed in per your store design. Don’t forget to save your page when you’re done.

  5. What kinds of menu items do I want to include in my menu framework?
    • It depends on what kind of store you have and what approach you take you’d like to take with it. We advise looking at other examples of online storefronts and seeing what they’ve done to get some ideas. We’ve also included a few suggestions of our own to provide you with some food for thought.

    • Typically the lower menu includes more policy and factual/informational links. They include items like:
      • Store Help,
      • About Us Pages
      • Contact Us Pages
      • Payment Option Information
      • Returns & Exchange Policies
      • Shipping Policies

    • The upper navigation is more promotional in nature and includes more "fun stuff", things like:
      • Upcoming News and Events,
      • Perhaps another About Us & Contact Us link,
      • Most popular products,
      • Any Advertising or Store Promotion links – Sales pages, Most Popular Products etc.

    • Side Navigation usually focuses on your products and includes other product groupings beyond your basic category structure (usually placed below in a separate navigation box); we’ve seen sites include menus where products are grouped by:
      • Activity
      • Collection
      • Sale
